UNIT OVERVIEW
This revision unit covers all the major topics from Terms 1 and 2. You will practise the skills and concepts you need for the mid-year examination.
By the end of this unit, you will be able to:
- Resolve vectors into components and calculate resultants in two dimensions
- Apply Newton's Laws to solve problems involving friction, tension, and inclined planes
- Calculate gravitational forces and acceleration due to gravity at various heights
- Explain molecular geometry using VSEPR theory and predict polarity
- Identify intermolecular forces and relate them to physical properties
- Apply Snell's Law and calculate critical angles for total internal reflection
- Use Huygens' principle to explain diffraction patterns
- Solve problems using gas laws (Boyle's, Charles's, Gay-Lussac's, Combined, and Ideal Gas Law)
- Perform stoichiometric calculations including limiting reagents and percentage yield
- Analyse energy changes in reactions and interpret energy diagrams
