UNIT OVERVIEW

This revision unit helps you consolidate everything you learned in Term 3 about how life is organised on Earth. You will revise:

• The biosphere and how Earth's spheres connect
• South Africa's terrestrial and aquatic biomes
• Abiotic (non-living) and biotic (living) factors in ecosystems
• Energy flow and nutrient cycling
• Food chains, food webs, and ecological pyramids
• Human impacts and ecotourism

What you need before starting:

• Grade 8 knowledge of the hydrosphere, lithosphere, and atmosphere
• Understanding of producers, consumers, and decomposers
• Basic knowledge of nutrient cycling from Grade 9
