UNIT OVERVIEW
This unit helps you prepare for your Grade 10 Life Sciences mid-year examination. You will revise all the content from Terms 1 and 2, practise exam-style questions, and learn how to manage your time during the exam.
What the exam looks like:
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Time allowed | 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes) |
| Total marks | 150 |
| Paper structure | One paper covering all Term 1 and 2 content |
How marks are spread across thinking levels:
| Level | What it tests | Percentage | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Recall facts and basic understanding | 40% | 60 |
| Level 2 | Apply your knowledge to new situations | 25% | 37–38 |
| Level 3 | Analyse data, compare, and evaluate | 35% | 52–53 |
This means about 60 marks test whether you remember facts and definitions. The rest tests whether you can use what you know to solve problems and interpret information.
